My research is situated in two principal areas. I have past ethnographic research based in the city of Ahmedabad India, where I've looked at issues relating to the spatial politics of informality, displacement, social justice, the urban-rural fringe, and shifting regimes of urban governance.
I also possess a substantial history working at the intersection between geography and the performing arts. This vein of research focuses on the potential of art to act as a site for popular politics and to produce spaces for egalitarian debate. I am particularly engaged in devising new ways of writing, performing and circulating geographical knowledges.
